You can share the files and folders that you store in Google Drive with anyone in your work or external users but the organization may limit how you can share files with other people. When you share for Google Drive, you can control whether people can edit, comment, or view only the file. When you share content from Google Drive, the Google Drive program policies apply.

Here's how you share a file in My Drive

  • Open Gmail Drive
  • Click My Drive and select the file you want to share
  • Click the three (3) dots to open file settings
  • Add an email address to add a new user to view, edit, comment
  • Click Done

Note: The user will receive an email invite to access the file. You can always remove the user access using the process above.
